Rough Play

The installation Rough Play is the result of a research project exploring the role of play fighting. It presents an environment for play fighting using demarcated zones, props, a new symbolic motif and a documentary film showing children at play in the space. By framing free play fighting as a performance with ceremonial aspects, the work seeks to be a testament to the role that such activity can play in society.
