Untitled (digital)

2016 - research project

Untitled (digital) was a series of discussions and attempts to understand what is meant by ‘the digital’ and the possibilities it presents for contemporary art making. The project highlighted contrasts between free action, rule-bound behavior and reiterations (repetition as a process of refinement), asking: What is the community binding potential of art made on the computer? What happens in the territory between the individual maker or digital ‘user’, and the mass collective ‘likers’? What does being part of a digital online community feel like? How do we perform these networks? Where does the true intimacy reside?

Activity and research included programming the day-long conference What is the Digital Draw? at Drawing Room, London in April 2016 and development of ONLINE a commission with UP Projects and Google launched in January 2017.
