Silk Banner, 360 x 90 cm
OHMHO is a part of an ongoing series of flag-banner works which draw on everyday notices that delineate territories or behaviour in public spaces. Examples include corporate advertisements placed around the streets, proscriptive public signage, celebratory flags, and sheets and notices installed by the contemporary occupation protest movements. This work continues her interest in generative social formats and the re-appropriation of existing social forms. She imagines them as announcing a muster of the unexpected.
This work featured in Art Lending Libary at Glasgow International 2012 and at Crown Street Gallery, Darlington 2014.
